Greetings,

I am in my 18th year working with Young Offenders in Custody, in one of the most
stressful job’s I can think of and I love it. It’s had its ups and downs but for the most
part very fulfilling. I do not have a professional degree but have put as much time in
career specific studies. I wanted to study the MIND and the nature of humans and psychiatry, sociology, psychology, criminology and history were all too much to get a degree in each, yet all fit. So, I chose specific studies to better suite my needs.

I was hypnotized to quit smoking  (a gift from my dear wife on my Visa) and it worked. I quickly connect the dots between meditating, affirmations, prayer, visualization and hypnosis. So, I got certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming and in two schools of Hypnotherapy and continue studying these modalities.

I am trained in Time Line Therapy, Suicide Prevention Intervention and Counseling and
Risk Assessment. I’ve attended training on sex offenders and sexually intrusive children, child abuse, substance abuse, motivational Interviewing and Reality Therapy. I have been studying BioFeedback and a plethora of other modalities to get a full understanding of how
we think and act. I continue developing and facilitating programming or workshops in life skills, thinking errors, anger management and personal development. I have extensive
group work experience in mediation, problem solving, and believe in using the basics
of Reality Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.  I am known to use tough love,
but it’s all done in love.

I started reading Allan Watts and I started on a three-year walk-about throughout
Canada and the USA when I was 16 in the early 70’s. I guess that dates me. I have been
on numerous spiritual quests and have witnessed many amazing things. I had my share of problems as a youth and a young adult because of life style choices. I did not have a lot of people guiding me and found very few street workers or counselors in those days that were there for you. Dedicated and caring and those are the ones that made a difference in my life.

My dedication and passion for counseling and assisting people in personal development is now a life long learning mission to make a difference in peoples lives. I have been an activist for the environment, anti-war and an anti-poverty advocate.  I have been active in healing racism and literacy and always have a “cause” in life.
